Join us Sundays in September for Healthy Church for a Healthy World, a four-week series exploring spiritual, physical, and emotional well-being.
Each Sunday follows the same format:
9:00 AM — Worship, Spiritual Reflection & Health Talk
Our worship service will include a reflection on spiritual health, along with a health-focused presentation from one of our guest presenters.
10:00 AM — Workshop
Stay after worship for an interactive workshop where we’ll go deeper into the topic, ask questions, and explore practical ways to apply what we’re learning to our everyday lives.
Come to worship, the workshop, or both! All are welcome.
September 6 — Cardiac Risk Factors With John Perrine
We’ll kick off the series by looking at some of the major factors that contribute to heart disease, including the American Heart Association’s Life’s Essential 8. The 10:00 AM workshop will include a Blood Pressure Clinic with nurses, giving participants an opportunity to have their blood pressure checked and learn more about this important measure of heart health.
September 13 — Women and Heart Disease With Laura Perrine
Heart disease doesn’t always look the same in women. This week, we’ll explore women’s unique risk factors, warning signs, and ways to be more proactive about heart health. The workshop will include additional resources and a film component.
September 20 — HeartMath With Debra Pendergast, RN, MSN, and Sonya Davis
How are stress, the heart, the brain, and our emotional well-being connected? This interactive session will introduce HeartMath skills and techniques and offer practical ways to explore the connection between stress and our overall well-being.
September 27 — Navigating the Healthcare System With John Perrine
Knowing how to navigate healthcare can make a real difference. This practical session will offer tips for preparing for medical appointments, communicating with healthcare providers, and making sure you’re getting the right care at the right time.The 10:00 AM workshop will include time for questions and answers.
