Frequently Asked Questions

If you plan to attend Sunday in-person worship, you must reserve your seats through the reservation link found on the website.  Seating is limited to only 50 attendees per service.  Reservations become available every Monday by 10:00am and end by Saturday at 8:00pm or when seats are “sold out”.  Required reservations are on a first come, first served basis.  Please make your reservations early.   Although tickets will be emailed to you, physical tickets are not required at the door for check-in.  If you have trouble signing up, please contact the church office for assistance during regular office hours.

Sedona UMC reserves the right to cancel any worship service during this re-opening time.

If you have been tested positive for COVID-19, have come into contact with someone who has, or are 65 or older and have a serious underlying medical condition please stay home and watch SUMC’s services on the internet. Taped recordings will be available through the website.  If you think you’ve got COVID-19, feel sick, have a fever, have a dry cough, or have difficulty breathing please do not come to Sedona UMC, but rather contact your family physician to get tested for COVID-19.

Entrance to the church will be by the front entrance only, balcony & patio entrances will be locked.  Please park in front parking lot only.  Arrive at least 15 minutes early to ensure everyone gets seated prior to service time.  Temperatures will be taken at the door.

Wearing a mask is required for everyone.  Wear a mask except if you have a medically diagnosed breathing disorder or if children are younger than 2. If a person is able to wear a mask but refuses, they will be asked to sit outside on the patio in order to respect the health of others. If they have a disorder and can’t wear a mask, we will offer a face shield, or ask that you sit in “extra physically distanced” seating area which will be set aside in the sanctuary depending on availability.

6 ft. social distancing applies regardless of masking from the time you exit your car.  Please follow directional signs in and out of the building and sanctuary.  Hand sanitizer is available throughout the building, please use it often.  Worship spaces will be cleaned and disinfected before, during and after each service.  Remember to not touch your eyes, nose, or mouth since COVID-19 can be picked up from surfaces that others have touched.

When you enter the sanctuary, please wait for a member of the usher team to assist you.  Pews will be marked with an empty pew between each, ushers will show you to your seats.  Remember to keep the 6 feet distance from those around you.  Face masks are to remain on throughout your visit.  When it is time to depart from the sanctuary, the ushers will direct you, please adhere to distancing requirements.

There will be no hymnals, bibles or paper bulletins available. Electronic bulletins are available through the website and bible verses will be projected.  Collection boxes will be found in the back of the sanctuary to receive offering contributions.

Families are invited to worship together in the sanctuary.  There is no childcare or in-person Sunday School available.  Children’s Sunday School will offered at 2pm via ZOOM.  Please contact the office for more information.

We ask that in lieu of shaking hands and hugging friends, greet them with a wave.

No congregational singing will be done but music will be offered by soloists or taped recordings.

No Fellowship with food and drink will be available at this time.

If you’ve attended a SUMC service and then test positive for COVID-19, you must immediately contact the church office by phone or email.

Eventbrite is the ticketing/reservation website Sedona UMC has chosen to use for our reopening.  When you reserve your tickets for the first time, you may choose to make an account with Eventbrite.  By making an account, you will be able to view, edit or cancel your reservations. After confirmation, tickets will be emailed to you.  Physical tickets are not required at the door for check-in, but please bring your confirmation email to church in case there is a problem.

If you are not ready to return to church yet, we understand.  Pre-recorded online worship videos will still be available on Sunday mornings.  Sunday worship videos are available on our Sermons page or our YouTube Channel.
