“Some, however, did receive him and believed in him; so he gave them the right to become God’s children. They did not become God’s children by natural means, that is, by being born as the children of a human father; God himself was their Father.” (John 1:12:13)

Family conveys a sense of belonging—To be in the family of God means to be accepted for who we are: loved, cherished, celebrated, and fully forgiven. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, they are a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come” (2 Corinthians 5:17).

A Christian is one who has been adopted by God—Brought into the family of God, all by the Son of God. And this changes everything. This family of brothers and sisters in Christ are more deeply connected to us than any other relationships, even our earthly families! We share a spiritual unity through our common Father, God!

As God’s family, we are His precious possessions, and we are never alone. We are a called into a community of faith acting as God’s hands and feet on this earth. From hugs and words of comfort to feeding the hungry, we operate by and to spread the love of God, to all His people, so that no one will ever feel alone or forsaken.
