As believers, we are called on a journey with Christ—and even those who may not yet know Jesus, are called as well. For believers, this journey began early in life with Baptism. Our parents and families made sure we were raised in the church, learning about God through life in the community of faith. And along the way on this journey, you and I hear the Lord calling us, saying, “Follow me.”
What wonderful words! What an exciting invitation to a way of life, to an adventure as we travel with Jesus to new and unknown places. You see, God sees our potential, and God is forever calling us to live into that potential. As we walk with our Lord, we learn from him—We learn through worship, and prayer, and in reading the stories in the Holy Scriptures. Through these acts of faith, we are shaped and formed as his disciples. He sends us out into the world to share the Good News of the Gospel—We reach others bringing healing and hope.
Jesus gives us a Gospel vision as we see him kneeling to wash the feet of His disciples and calling us to do the same for others. At the very heart of the Christian journey is love—Love of God and love of others. Also, at the heart of the Christian journey is sacrifice, and nowhere is this sacrificial love more clearly experienced than in Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection.
Lent is a time of reflection, reflecting upon the greatest gift ever given through Jesus’ glorious life-giving work. You and I are on a journey with Christ—And along the way on this journey, he will call us again and again into a deeper relationship. Join us this Sunday at Sedona United Methodist Church as Rev. Fred Mast delivers a message of hope and grace entitled “Follow Me”.
This Sunday we will incorporate some of our normal Ash Wednesday elements into our Sunday worship as we are unable to do our normal Ash Wednesday remembrance.
You will have the opportunity to take home some consecrated ashes as you depart worship for use on Wednesday for those who would like this opportunity. If you are worshipping on-line and would like ashes, you can either stop by the office Monday – Wednesday, or phone us and we will make every effort to deliver them to you.
Sunday mornings we enter the spirit of worship at 9:30am featuring meaningful and uplifting music, special times of prayer and passionate life changing messages designed to move you closer in your relationship with Jesus Christ and others. We look forward to seeing you!
WE ARE OPEN once again for On-Site/In-Person worship at 9:30am. As we strive to keep our congregation and community safe and healthy, we will observe physical distancing and limited seating worship.
