. . . “Where is he who has been born king of the Jews? For we saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.” (Matthew 2:2)
As we enter our season of advent, our theme this year is “BELIEVE”—Because once you believe, anything is possible! Once you believe in Christmas, the world becomes a place of wonder—a place where God greets us waiting to show us beauty and goodness of life. A time when God wants to show us something that will stop us in our tracks, speak to our hearts, and amaze us.
But we must have eyes to see it. The wise men not only had the eyes to see, but they also had the courage to follow the sign which allowed them to discover the savior of the world. It is almost inconceivable to think that no one went with the wise men to see Jesus, but that is what we can assume from Matthew’s account. The question is why?
Perhaps they were too busy. Maybe they were afraid. Or were they just focused on other “more important” things? Like the wondrous star that led the wise men to the Christ child, God continues to place signs along our paths, all meant to lead us to him. Come and join us this Sunday at Sedona United Methodist Church as Rev. Fred Mast delivers an Advent message entitled “Eyes to See & Courage to Discover”.
Sunday mornings we enter the spirit of worship at 9:30am featuring meaningful and uplifting music, special times of prayer and passionate life changing messages designed to move you closer in your relationship with Jesus Christ and others. We look forward to seeing you!
