“By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. (2 Peter 1:3)

One of the most unbelievable attributes of God is that although he has limitless power, God chooses to share this abundant power with his creation. The Almighty cares enough about us to willingly fill us with his strength—calling upon us to tap into this power to honor and glorify him. God gives power as needed to complete his will.

The word power is found in the New Testament 57 times and is a word used to describe God— the most powerful force in the universe. It is a word used to describe the most amazing and powerful event ever—The resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. It is a word that can only be comprehended or described by those who believe.

Our God is a power sharing God—A God who wants us to discover peace when we are unsure. A God who wants us to experience endurance when we are empty, a God who wants us to embrace courage when we are afraid—A God who wants us to embody power when we are powerless. “For God has not given us a spirit of fearfulness, but one of power, love, and sound judgment” (2 Tim. 1:7).
