We have some wonderful opportunities to help our community in need this month and I just wanted to send out a little reminder.

Our Diaper/Clothing drive has been ramped up by Andrea Kadar as she includes it in the “Two-Fer Tuesday” promotions.  See below how you can help:

The Sedona United Methodist Church, 100 Indian Cliffs Road, Sedona (Back O’ Beyond roundabout) is collecting diapers & baby clothes for Abide House in Camp Verde and summer children’s clothes for Naomi House on the Navajo Reservation.

You may drop off donations through the month of June in the donations box at the front of the church: Tuesday through Thursday from 9 AM to 4 PM. On Friday, you may drop off donations between 9 AM and noon.

**FOR OUR TWO-FER TUESDAY If you drop off clothes next Tuesday, the 16th, you get a HOME MADE treat that you can eat…this surprise for you will be made in very sanitary conditions with the upmost care and attention. **YUM!

Here are the current needs: diapers, baby and toddler clothes (newborn to 3 T). Also, they need children’s summer clothes and shoes for ages 4 to 16. If you can get large to XXL for kids, women’s sizes 6 to 10, men’s size 36 pants and shoes sizes 9T, youth 1-5 and adult 7.5 to 10.5, that would be wonderful, too!

Thanks for supporting our brothers and sisters both locally and on the Navajo Nation.  As we climb out of the pandemic and get back to some degree of “normal”, these people are still suffering. THANK YOU for being a blessing to them. Remember that our motto never ceases to be relevant: “BE the miracle!”

We also have the opportunity to support SUMC’s own SAGAP program (Sedona Area Gap Assistance Program) by shopping at Clark’s in the VOC on Monday, June 22nd between 8 am and 6 pm.  You can drop off your receipts at the SAGAP table and we get 5% of the sales to purchase items needed to be dispersed at the Sedona Food Bank.

We hope you will participate in one or both of these worthy missions this month.
