“Then they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their cloaks on it; and he sat on it. Many people spread their cloaks on the road, and others spread leafy branches that they had cut in the fields. Then those who went ahead and those who followed were shouting, Hosanna! Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord! Blessed is the coming kingdom of our ancestor David! Hosanna in the highest heaven!” [Mark 11:7-10]

It is traditionally believed that Jesus’ earthly ministry, from baptism to crucifixion, was a period of three years—roughly 1000 days. The writers of the Gospels attempt to summarize this entire period for us—but clearly, they believed that the final week of Jesus’ life was the most important. We call this “Holy Week” and the beginning of this Holy Week is called “Palm Sunday”.

Jesus Christ is the greatest gift ever given to humanity. He was born in obscurity, with no fanfare not in some palace but in a damp dark cave. Growing up we hear little of Him, and when we do there is a gentle humbleness. In His ministry, we realize His wisdom and compassion. During His final days here on this earth we see His unfailing love and mercy. And in His resurrection, we experience His Power and Majesty. As we reflect on the remarkable life of Jesus Christ we are challenged to “Walk Worthy” of His high calling for us.

Join us this week at Sedona United Methodist Church as our Chancel Choir leads a very special worship service filled with beautiful meaningful songs, scripture that paints amazing pictures, and a brief walk through the coming Holy Week in a message by Rev. Fred Mast entitled “He Did This All for Me”. Come and join this very special celebration of Palm Sunday featuring a procession of palms, beautiful music, and plenty of “Hosanna’s” to the King.

Sunday mornings we enter the spirit of worship at 9:30 am featuring uplifting music, special times of prayer, and passionate life changing messages that will move you closer in your relationship with Jesus Christ and others. Immediately following worship, you are encouraged and invited to stay and join us in our Fellowship Hall for the friendliest and best fellowship time anywhere featuring delicious snacks and great coffee and always friendship.
