What is the true meaning of Christmas? It’s more than unwrapping presents, decorating trees, hanging lights, or sharing a Christmas feast with family and friends. If you listen close, you can hear it in the voices of children who know in their hearts there is more to Christmas, that there is a much deeper meaning. They sense that Christmas is about relationships and about loving God and loving one another. There is much more to this time of year than Santa and eight tiny reindeer—as we gather close with loved ones and grow closer in our relationship to God through the amazing gift of the precious Christ Child. We can show them that Christmas is about giving, by offering our time side by side with others, by connecting in special ways with friends and family, and by providing a feeling of belonging to those who need it most.
We invite you to join us and the Reverend Fred Mast at Sedona United Methodist Church on Sunday December 24th at 9:30 am and 6:00 PM for two very special Christmas Eve celebrations. These celebrations will feature a scriptural journey of the Nativity Story, Traditional Carols, Candle-lighting (at 6:00 PM), with Holy Communion and are great for families with children. Come and hear the story of Christ’s birth and celebrate with us the true reason for the season, finding the Hope, Love, Joy, and Peace that came in into the world through a precious little baby boy born in a manger in Bethlehem on that Christmas so long ago. As your special gift to a special friend, consider inviting, picking them up, and bringing them along with you to this wonderful time of celebration. Come and Unwrap the True Meaning of Christmas for you and your family! A time of fellowship, snacks and beverages will follow both services.
