Fall is in the air and activities are picking up once again! What a weekend coming up in the life of Sedona UMC—Ready? Here we go—
We begin tonight-Friday October 7th at 6:00 PM with an amazing Free Community Concert featuring the award winning group Crosby Lane out of Nashville Tennessee. This is a concert you won’t want to miss—and invite your friends and neighbors. Refreshments will be served after the concert and CD’s will be available for purchase. Please come and let’s welcome them in a BIG way—the band has traveled a long way to share God’s message and music with us.
On this Saturday morning—October 8th (There is a typo in the RR News) at 8am our monthly “Men’s Breakfast” will be held at the Olde Sedona restaurant and will feature our guest speaker will be Bob McDonal an Air Force veteran who will share with us geopolitical topics concerning China and Russia. All the men of our Verde Valley Communities are welcomed and encouraged to attend.
Also Saturday Morning beginning at 10:30am (In Fellowship Hall) ALL members and friends of Sedona UMC called and encouraged to attend our “Annual Church Conference”. Our District Superintendent Rev. Neil Leftwich, will be with us to conduct the important annual business of the church. Again, all members and friends of Sedona UMC are invited to attend. Of course there will be light breakfast food, coffee, and juice—we’re Methodists!
Sunday morning Pastor Fred continues a series of sermons entitled “The Power of One” looking at one of the most familiar biblical stories ever—the feeding of the 5000 through the eyes of one little boy who decided to share his lunch box with the masses. So often we are amazed at the power of the Holy Spirit to work incredible miracles through what we so often believe to be very meager offerings on our part.
Don’t forget to bring sweet treat donations for “Trunk R Treat” and remember to sign up to join in the fun as we welcome the children of our community.
Immediately following worship stay and enjoy the friendliest and best fellowship anywhere. We will have lots of great snacks, coffee, and even some healthier choices so come and be filled up in more ways than one!
Grace & Peace,
Pastor Fred
