“True Faith is not believing that God can; it is knowing that God will.” How often have we faced a situation in life, a desperate time in which we would give anything if God would just hear our call and answer our prayers? How many of us have received difficult news from the doctor, news of the death of a loved one taken from us far too soon. How many of us have struggled with relationships with our spouses, children, or even a dear friend? In these times, what a sense of assurance we can have that our God hears our cries and cares dearly for us in the midst of our struggles. Join us this week at Sedona United Methodist Church as we celebrate Memorial Day Weekend with a spirit-filled message from Rev. Fred Mast titled “An Amazing Faith,” based on the story of a Roman Soldier’s deep and abiding faith that takes us inside what true faith looks like and showing how and what true faith does. In this seventh chapter of Luke, verses 1-10, we see a centurion who, though he was a Gentile, understood who Christ was and what God could do working through the person of Jesus.
Immediately following worship, you are invited to stay and join us for the best fellowship anywhere—this week we will celebrate our Chancel Choir with a breakfast brunch. Come as we celebrate and recognize all of the hard work our dedicated choir under the direction and leadership of Norm and Janice LaDuke. On Saturday June 4, the Sedona UMW will meet for a potluck salad lunch at 11:30 am in our Fellowship Hall. A program will follow at 1:00 pm featuring the “Harmony on the Rocks” who will entertain. This is a barbershop chorus of about twenty members who will bless us with their great harmonies. We would like to extend an invitation to all the ladies of our Verde Valley Communities to come make new friends, enjoy a great luncheon, and hear some great music. Please RSVP to our church office (928)282-1780 so we can reserve a space for you.
