Join us as we celebrate the 3rd Sunday of Advent that is “JOY.” Christmas was never intended to be a season of anxiety, but a season of joy.  That’s why St. Paul’s words from Philippians, chapter 4, are so appropriate for the third Sunday of Advent, “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice!”  Come and join us for a spirit-filled morning of worship as Pastor Fred presents a sermon entitled “Who Stole My Joy?”  Plan to stay after worship and join us for a great time of fellowship and the opportunity to make some new friends.

The community is also invited to join us on this coming Friday @ 6:30 PM for our monthly Family Movie Night.  This month’s feature presentation is Max Lucado’s “The Christmas Candle,” a wonderful story of the miracle of Christmas coming to the enchanting small village of Gladbury.  Come and enjoy a night of fellowship and fun for the whole family.  This is a free event.  Be sure to come hungry as there will be lots of great food and beverages.  Mark your calendar for 12/20 at 9:30 as you do not want to miss the SUMC Chancel Choir cantata.  The celebration will continue with the Twelve Soups of Christmas meal after the service of song and good cheer!

SUMC is a tremendously warm and welcoming community of faith that has many opportunities and events in the coming weeks surrounding our Advent and Christmas Season.  Plan to join us on Christmas Eve at 6 PM for a celebration service of Scripture Lessons, Carols, Candlelight, and Communion. This special evening is great opportunity to experience again, the coming of the precious Christ child into our world.  Nursery will be provided.
