Share a special, thoughtful time in the Christian calendar as Sedona United Methodist Church welcomes everyone to our study through Lent. On this first Sunday in Lent, we consider how important water is to the story. Water has been used to cleanse in the literal sense–God only saved 8 people when Noah floated his ark–and in the symbolic sense when we are baptized. “And this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also–not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who has gone into heaven and is at God’s right hand–with angels, authorities and powers in submission to him.” (1 Peter 3:21-22, NIV). Share Lent with us at 9:30 Sunday mornings and in the many activities our church sponsors.
