Sedona UMC altarEaster is the celebration of God’s wondrous gift of new life to anyone who chooses to receive it. The New Testament records the witness of early Christians whose lives were transformed through their experience of the Resurrected Christ. Christian theology traditionally understands the resurrection as a sign of God’s victory over sin and death; human beings who were once alienated from God are now reconciled to God through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We experience the free gifts of forgiveness & new life when we put our faith and trust in Jesus; this free gift comes to us through grace, and does not depend on anything we do to earn or deserve it. Once we receive the gift of new, we are called to respond through our faithful witness & faithful service.
