IMG_0042Dear Friends and Family of Sedona UMC:

Happy Mother’s Day Weekend!!!

Friday night (May 12th) beginning at 6pm, join us for our monthly Family Movie Night featuring the movie “The Secrets of Jonathan Sperry”—The story of a who endears himself to a number of youth unknowingly hungry to learn more about God. Beginning with one young man word begins to spread of a man who loves God and has a passion for teaching. This amazing story shows the importance of taking time in life to mentor and help others. Come and enjoy “BBQ Pork Sandwiches-Hot Dogs” macaroni salad, chips, and salad as well as all of our normal movie night favorites and plenty of great desserts so come hungry. This event is FREE of charge and you are encouraged to invite, pick-up, and bring your friends and families.

Saturday morning (May 13th) Leaders from the Desert Southwest Conference will be at SUMC to lead “Tune-Up Day” in our “Reaching New People” program we started and committed to in the Fall. Members from 5 other area UM Churches will be here for this great opportunity to expand our efforts to “Reach New People”. SUMC will be well represented with about 20 people signed up to come. Please be here at 9:45am as there will be coffee and morning snacks—we will start at 10am sharp and lunch will be provided. If you didn’t sign-up or weren’t sure about coming there is still room for a few more so please come it runs from 10am to 4PM.

On Sunday morning we will begin a Sermon Series on the importance of prayer in all we do in a series titled “Prayer Saturated Community”. This Sunday’s sermon title will be “Every Time I Feel the Spirit” looking at Jesus teaching the disciples about prayer in the 11th Chapter of Luke’s Gospel.

Immediately following worship we will gather together in our Fellowship Hall for our weekly fellowship and greeting time which will feature lots of great snacks and the best coffee anywhere! We will celebrate “Mother’s” and also say farewell to the Overbee Family. All are invited to come and make a new friendship with the “friendliest congregation” anywhere.

Lots of great happenings here at Sedona UMC and a great opportunity for each and every one of us to Invite, Pick Up, and Bring a friend to Church, an event, or a one of the many Special Worship Services thru this amazing season of Lent and Easter.

I look forward to making it a great weekend as always alongside all of you—

Grace & Peace,

Pastor Fred
