In the classic novel: “Alice in Wonderland,” Alice comes to a fork in the road. One unmarked path leads one way, while the other path leads the another way… Alice asks the Cheshire Cat for advice:
“Would you tell me please,” she asks, “which way I ought to go from here?”
“That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,” said the cat.
“I don’t much care where,” said Alice.
“Then it matters not which way you go,” said the Cat.
Today more than ever, we so often struggle for direction in our lives. Questions such as where I will go to school after graduation, what will I study, which career to choose. Or as we age out of the work force questions like, where will I retire, how much money will I need, what if I get sick? We worry about our children and our grandchildren’s futures and pray that they will choose the right path.
So where can we turn in these challenging times for answers to which path to choose. Who should we turn to for this direction and leadership?
Join us this week as Pastor Fred Mast presents a sermon titled “Knowing the Shepherd” based on Psalm 23. In this world so often the only sure place to turn is toward God—The Good Shepherd who leads his sheep in seeking answers—if we know Him and are willing to listen.
Immediately following worship, you are invited to stay and join us for the best fellowship anywhere—this week we will celebrate our Administration Assistant Vicki Loeding. Come as we celebrate and recognize all of her hard work as she leaves SUMC for Minnesota.
