From Pastor Fred Mast
Here is a reminder of all the wonderful Holy Week and Easter events we will celebrate together.
Tonight-Thursday March 24th @ 6:30 pm we gather in our fellowship hall for our “Holy Thursday Feast of Friends”. We will gather and share a meal together in the tradition of a “Passover Feast” followed by a time of devotion, scripture, and Holy Communion. Bring a dish to share along with a friend or two to share this very meaningful time remembering Jesus’ “Last Supper” with His disciples.
Tomorrow night we will gather for worship for our “Good Friday Service of Remembrance” in our worship center beginning at 7:00 pm. This is a powerful service to remember the sacrifice Jesus made for all of humanity and prepares our hearts to fully appreciate Easter Sunday and all that means for the world. Our chancel choir will participate in this service, an excellent opportunity to center your heart on Christ to conclude this year’s Lenten journey. Invite friends as they too will find this a very moving service.
Easter Morning, Sunday March 27th we will worship at our usual 9:30 am we will have a special service celebrating the Risen Christ! Our chancel choir will perform a special Easter anthem and we will see for the first time the fruits of our “Bell Choir” who has worked so very hard to prepare for this celebration. Pastor Fred will bring a message entitled “The Empty Promises of Easter” and we will celebrate Holy Communion. Let’s pack the house!
Following worship stay and enjoy the “Best Fellowship Hour” around—I understand the SET Team may have a special treat for us.
We are so truly blessed to have the ability to worship, fellowship, and love one another in this beautiful facility God has blessed us with. And I want you all to know what an honor and privilege it is to be your pastor here, and how truly blessed Jenny and I and our entire family is to be a part of this great Sedona UMC family and community. I hope to see a whole lot of all of you over the course of the next 4 days.
