April 19th is Native American Sunday, a day we’ll celebrate, support, and strengthen our ties with the Native American population and our ministries on the reservations and across the country. Native American Sunday was first celebrated in 1989 and we intend to show the respect we have for this culture during this service with our words and gifts to support our ongoing efforts at acceptance, love, and reconciliation. Our Northern Arizona lands are rich with an important indigenous ancestry and our lives intertwine with the cultures of both past and present. Join us at 9:30 am as we live the words we believe–caring for all peoples, cultures, histories, as one. A special offering will take place which helps expand our help and educates Native American seminarians.
Mark several dates in May as “Not to be missed!” Our swap meet is May 2nd from 8-noon. Want to be involved? Call us to reserve a table. On May 10th, we are delighted to present our own Dr. Lily Chou at the piano. She is a classically trained pianist who has travelled the world and played for millions of people. You don’t want to miss this special performance. Dr. Chou’s concert is free with a goodwill offering taken after you are properly astonished! On May 18th at 7pm, the wonderful music continues with a concert of the Phoenix Boys Choir! Come see the pride of Phoenix on their Spring tour. The PBC has four levels depending on age, ability, and training. Our show will feature the Town Choir–boys between 8-12 who are about to graduate to the top Tour Choir level. Tickets are $10 at the door. Both concerts will be very popular so early seating is important.
