What’s the biggest extreme sporting event you have been to? Have you been to the World Series or the Superbowl? Have you seen a famous preacher like Billy Graham in a football stadium full of people? Did you go to Woodstock? Nothing compares to the day that John the Baptist and the whole Judean people gathered by the River Jordan. Mark 1:4-11 talked about Jesus coming to be baptized and “And just as he was coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens torn apart and the Spirit descending like a dove on him. And a voice came from heaven, ‘You are my Son, the Beloved; with you I am well pleased.'” Wow! Talk about an event. What does baptism mean in your life? Have you ever really thought about it? Pastor Jimelvia Martin will talk about this amazing event and how it manifests in our lives and what it meant back in the days when Jesus walked out of that river.
