OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOn March. 23rd, Sedona United Methodist Church proudly welcomes our friend and neighbor, the Rabbi Alicia Magal, as our guest speaker in our 9:30 am Worship Service.  Rabbi Alicia has served as the spiritual leader of the Jewish Community of Sedona and the Verde Valley since 2006.  She brings a depth of experience in Judaic studies, the arts, and education, and received her rabbinical ordination in 2003 from the Aleph Jewish Renewal Rabbinical Program as well as from the Academy for Jewish Religion in Los Angeles, CA.  She leads her congregation with love, creativity, sensitivity and on-going interfaith community outreach.  It is her mission to “bring sparks of holiness and joy to the study of Torah.”  We look forward to Rabbi Alicia teaching us about the role of Hebrew scripture in Jewish life today.  Rabbi Alicia will also join our chancel choir as we sing “He Watching Over Israel,” a beautiful Felix Mendelssohn piece based on Psalms 121:4 and 138:7.  It is part of the larger oratorio work, Elijah, written in 1846.

Sedona UMC is located at 110 Indian Cliffs Road, just off the Back O’ Beyond roundabout on Route 179 in Sedona.  Nursery and Sunday School every week and all are welcome!  Many opportunities exist to be part of this season of Lent including bible study, yoga wellness classes, and choir.   Call our office for more information at 282-1780.  Catch up with us on the web at www.sedonaumc.org.
